WAFA House representatives attended the 9th Annual Dinner held by the American Muslim Union at the Islamic Center of Passaic County. Governor Corzine attended this dinner and gave a speech. The WAFA House director gave a speech on WAFA House and stated the services WAFA House provides. WAFA House brochures were passed out to the people attending this dinner.

WAFA House representatives attended a meeting at the City Hall in Jersey City. They gave an introduction about WAFA House and its services.

A Family Wellness Festival coordinated by North Jersey Urgent Care took place on Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 11: 00 am to 5:00 pm. WAFA House had a tent reserved. Some of the WAFA House representatives were there and they gave out brochures and told people about our services.

A “Back to School” Movie Night took place from 7 pm to 9:30 pm at the YWCA at 185 Carroll St., Paterson, NJ. Free backpacks and school supplies were given to the children who attended the event. Popcorn and candy was served to the children and their parents while the movie “Never Ending Story” was being played in a big screen. A number of WAFA House representatives attended the event and they gave out brochures to the parents and told them about WAFA House services.

WAFA House participated in the Paterson Ward Community Collaborative executive committee meeting. The committee discussed different aspects of their community outreach event “Back-To-School Night”.

WAFA House participated in the Islamic Relief steering committee meeting to work towards the organization of the upcoming Humanitarian Day. The mission of this event is to support the homeless community by exposing Muslims to the community at large and vice versa.
Saturday, July 15th, 2006
An Egyptian Festival sponsored by the Jersey City Egyptian Committee took place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the PATH Plaza Concourse at Journal Square, Jersey City NJ.
WAFA House was offered a space by the organizer. A number of WAFA House volunteers offered their services and created banners for the booth.
Four WAFA House posters, created by Next Wave printing press, were displayed at the event.
The people who attended the festival came from multicultural backgrounds.
The event not only included a variety of multiethnic foods and entertainments, but also represented a number of health, social, and educational service agencies.
