Full Job Description Wafa House is seeking a passionate, experienced Development Associate to assist with the development of new revenue sources (individuals, corporations, and foundations) to fund the ongoing mission and strategic advancement of Wafa House. The person will also create and launch online funding campaigns. The Development Associate will work closely with the Executive Director and board to develop donor relationships. This is a six-month consulting project which can turn into a longer engagement. Must have availability to start on or before February 15th.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the development effort to raise funds for the vision and strategic plan of Wafa House.
Assist with the development a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation funders and prospects.
Conduct and/or oversee targeted searches for individual, corporate, and/or foundation funders with funding interests that align with Wafa House.
Manage efforts to secure donations and grants including drafting letters, reports and corporate sponsorship proposals.
Develop and manage donor communications and correspondence.
Create and manage online fundraising campaign.
Create fundraising marketing materials together with outreach team.

Bachelor’s degree
At least two years of relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising or external relations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize programs and projects
Excellent organizational and research skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships
Has experience working in the Middle Eastern/Arabic/Islamic and understanding of community needs
Collaborative working style
Possess the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Employment Type This is a six-month consulting position that can turn into a longer engagement. Must have availability to start on or before February 15th. Working remotely at this time provides flexibility in schedule and hours.
