This sister’s story is one of pride, determination, and strength.

Her story begins when she and her children were abandoned by her abusive and alcoholic husband. She was left with her kids, who all desperately needed support. She did not speak English, had no way to earn money, and was evicted from her home, leaving her with all her valuables scattered on the street. When this sister came to Wafa House, our entire team worked tirelessly to help her regain stability and rebuild her life.
Her case was particularly sensitive and required intensive case management and counseling services. Through the support of our bilingual staff, she was seen, heard, and understood every step of the way, ensuring that she could access services in a language and environment where she felt comfortable and supported.
Our team advocated extensively on her behalf and worked closely with her to secure stable housing for her family. While she continues her search f
or employment, Wafa House has been assisting with her rental expenses to help maintain the stability she has worked so hard to achieve. Our ultimate goal is to empower survivors to achieve independence and self-sufficiency, providing them with the tools and support needed to build a safe and secure future for themselves and their families. As her story continues, and the support around her grows, our sister continues to search for a job. Settling into her new apartment, she and her kids have started their journey to healing. Thanks to your donations, we continue to help pay her rent and other expenses to ensure she remains stable until she is able to provide for herself.
